FAI Staff Showcases Filmmaking Skills at Annual Christmas Party

LAGUNA, Philippines − Employees of Filweb Asia, Inc. (FAI) took a break from work to hold the firm’s annual Christmas Party at the Crimson Hotel Filinvest City last December 13, 2015.

Themed Short Film Festival, the party kicked off with fun activities such as the Christmas raffle and the choice for the Male and Female Stars of the Night. A few FAI staff showed their flair, too, through singing and dancing.

Hosted by stand-up comedian Wacky Macky, the highlight of the event was the announcing of the results of the Short Film Festival competition. FAI staff, grouped into four teams, made the short film entries. The films are Sin Palabras by Career Development Team; Kalibre by Writing and Data Research Team; Kape by 88 Digital Cloud Team; and Kapit by Creative Communication and Design Team.

With actress and assistant director Karla Pambid as judge, Kape won Best Picture while Kalibre placed second.

By the event’s closing, President and CEO, Mr. Laurel Mercado, and wife, Ms. Alma Mercado, thanked everyone for their dedication and Ms. Pambid for her presence at the party.

The “Kalibe” team, composed of the Writing Department and the Data Research Team, took home 5 out of 8 awards, including Second Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Actor.
The Digital Marketing, the Admin Department, and the MIS Team, the people behind the Best Picture “Kape,” beamed with pride as they posed for a group photo.
